Wind(ows)
Wind(ows) is an interactive installation based around a two sided video infinity mirror involving two participants who work together to create their own unique optical experience. The participants location and hand movements are tracked by two Kinect cameras mounted to the mirror and are used to alter the simulated forces inside of two particle systems. The goal of this installation is to promote play between the two viewers, encouraging them to experiment and attempt to find unison in their movements which will trigger different visual stimuli as the experience progresses. Each participant stands on one side of the mirror, their body hidden from the other viewer’s line of sight but visible through the “window”, creating a shared mixed reality environment that enables two people to co-create a virtual experience by their movement in the same physical space.
