BIO

Studio Expanse, founded in 2021 by American artist Aidan Lincoln and South Korean artist Young-Min Choi, uses a wide array of new media technology, digital fabrication tools, and generative software to create experimental light sculptures and interactive experiential installations.

Aidan is an electrical engineer by training and Young-Min an architect. The duo combine their past expertise to create experimental new media artworks that blend the boundary between the real and the digital, inviting viewers to step out of their normal thought patterns and experience the feeling of being present in the current moment. Works attempt to create a sense of wonder and joy, sometimes encouraging a calm meditative state, other times, a joyful and energetic joint experience with friends.

Works produced by Studio Expanse take many forms and have been shown across the United States from the Telfair Museum in Savannah, GA to Currents New Media Festival in Santa Fe, NM, and to the Illumination festival in Battery Park, NYC.
